![]() ![]() Microsoft Edge, however, was recorded to use 1.1% more overall CPU, though these values vary wildly from 0.1%-3.4% ![]() With five tabs open, Google Chrome still consumed 565MB or 45% more RAM compared to Microsoft Edge. Next, we tested both browsers with five tabs open: one personal Gmail tab, one work Gmail tab, one Facebook tab, one Facebook tab with YugaTech’s account open, and. The CPU usage difference is almost negligible. In this test, Google Chrome used 260MB or 250% more RAM compared to Microsoft Edge. In the first test, we tested each browser with only the home tab open. We loaded one, five, and ten tabs in each test, and let the system load for 15 seconds, so the usage settles down. Even though it was a bit letdown after all the wait it's still better than not saying anything or saying a same thing for over a year.Starting with the question everyone has been asking, we tested for the RAM and CPU usage of both browsers in three different scenarios. On the side note, one of the brave browser dev was working on bringing extensions to Android and was giving continues updates, and recently they had to postpone the work due to high merg tax. "We are currently working on a way to make staying up to date with Chromium easier for us on Android! Once that is complete, we will be in lockstep with the version of Chromium that desktop has :)".Īs far as my digging goes there seems to be only 2 people working on Android side and I might be completely wrong, they need to be open about it and give a possible eta. I have dug deep and hard through all the response from Microsoft team regarding Android and sadly it's just one response on loop. ![]() So as most of you know chrome native dark mode is decent enough and it's not available on edge Android cause it's still in v77 and this feature came out in v79. Firefox is pretty good in this regard(the send tab feature is fast and always works without delay unlike chrome based browsers) and their new version on Android is miles ahead of edge and it syncs better than chrome, but sadly it slows down if you use dark reader. I have been on quest to find the perfect browser which is not only fast but also secure and syncs. ![]()
